Rou Gui Yancha (Cassia Oolong) was first produced during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). The dried tea leaf has a long, curly appearance resembling iron shards in the dark, greeny-brown color and they sometimes carry the subtly sweet and spicy aroma of cassia, a cinnamon - like bark and this is why it is sometimes called Cassia Bark Oolong. The tea produces amber-colored liquor which has a strong fruity aroma with a long lasting, sweet after-taste. |
