Introduction: |
This select grade of pu-erh tea was compressed into a small birds' nest shape. Its inky brown infusion is rich and sweet, with mineral earthiness and the characteristic musty aroma. Our mini tuocha was made of a higher grade of ripe pu erh tea than most, resulting in a big body and smooth finish. It hails from the Nannuoshan region of China's southwestern Yunnan province, made from the ancient tea trees found there, with the Shu Cha or "cooked" method of manufacture whereby the pu-erh undergoes an additional oxidation step that speeds-up the aging process and improves in taste over time. Mini Tuochas are very convenient for travel because they are all individually wrapped in paper meaning you can easily fit them in your pocket and you will not crush the leaves. Unlike the conventional Pu-erh which normally exist in a much bigger size (like a piece of pizza or cake), people do not have to dismantle big tea cakes or bricks; instead they can directly brew a piece of Mini Pu Erh Tuochas in their teapot.

Preparation Methods: |
Put one piece of such Mini Ripe Pu Erh Tuocha into a teapot. Traditionally, the first infusion rinses and "wakes up" the tea and is then discarded. As with any quality Pu Erh, this tea can be infused 7-10 times. Each infusion should last between 5-10 seconds according to individual taste preference.
