Beauty oolong. Also known as Bai Hao oolong, Pong Fong oolong, Super Fancy Formosa Oolong or simply Formosa Oolong, our organic Oriental Beauty is produced in small batches and is a superb example of one of Taiwan’s most distinctive oolongs. However, surprisingly, this loose leaf tea comes from a small family farm in the Zhangzhou, Fujian, China. Harvest tea occurs in June when these leafhoppers have woken and begun to feast on the leaves. By eating the leaves the bugs trigger a defense mechanism in which the leaves release their natural oils in order to ward of the insect attack. The resulting brew is sweet and floral.
