In Chinese legend, Kunlun Mountains are said to be the home for many deities and sages. In this sacred mountains, there are lots of amazing flowers and beasts, and Kunlun Snow Chrysanthemum is one of them. Growing at a high altitude around 3000 metres, it only blossoms once every August with very short blooming lifespan, making it a rare tea that absorbs the essence of the 'Heavenly' Mountains. When brewed, it produces dark red amber liquor with pleasant floral smell and natural subtle sweet taste.
Kunlun Snow Chrysanthemum tea contains 18 kinds of amino acids and 15 kinds of trace elements. Researchers claim that it can prevent high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high blood sugar, coronary heart diseases, inflammation, colds, and insomnia when consumed in form of tea. Wild Kunlun snow daisy has been passed down from generation to generation as a Uighur medicinal herbal flower tea. |
Preparation Methods: |
Use around 2g/0.07 oz for every 225 ml of water. Steep the snow chrysanthemum in hot water at 90°c (194°F) to 95°c (203°F) for 2 to 4 minutes, or until the liquor turns light red. You may try brewing them with a bit of rock sugar. Serves well hot or cold. It is also suitable to be brewed with pu erh, goji berry, rose buds, peppermint leaves, honeysuckle, sweet stevia or lemongrass. |
