Introduction: |
Most everyone realizes that fruits and vegetables are good for your health, although Goji berries seem to be in a class by themselves. Numerous medical, nutrition, and research studies have indicated that Goji berries are possibly the healthiest food source on the Planet. Being possibly the richest source of antioxidants as well, they offer a wealth of health benefits including potential life extension qualities. Millions of people throughout Asia consume Goji berries every day for both their unique, satisfying flavor, and for their health benefits. In China’s first herbal encyclopedia, Shen Nong’s Materia Medica, written in the 1st century B.C., Goji was classified as a “superior tonic,” a class of herbs that people should take on an on-going basis to preserve youth and to promote general well being of life. Goji’s superior tonic classification has stood the test of time. Two thousand years later, Goji berries are still being consumed regularly throughout Asian civilizations for those purported reasons.
The Goji Berries we carry are the same strain originally grown in the Tibetan and Mongolian Himalayas. But due to their increasing global popularity, it is virtually impossible to purchase them from the Upper Himalayas any longer, as demand has outstripped available supply there. Our berries are directly sourced from the Ningxia Province in the Lower Himalayas of Northern Asia. The Ningxia Province has the reputation of having the very finest fertile soils and nutritious Goji berries grown anywhere. Our Goji berries are the finest Grade A Premium Goji berries picked at their peak of ripeness when they are at their tastiest stage and most nutritionally robust. |
